Update from Irene Jackson, President NBHOL 8/24/16:

    Good evening!
This evening, Alderman Silverstein held the meeting regarding the expected changes to the Howard/Sacramento intersection. Representatives from both Chicago and Evanston were there to explain their plans; which includes a pedestrian sidewalk bump out in addition to the traffic signal.  Approximately 60 residents attended.  Sid, Morrine, and I were in attendance.

Most of the residents in attendance were supportive of the traffic light and bump out; however, they opposed the idea of changing Sacramento into a two-way street due to concerns about traffic entering North Boundary.  Those present vote,d with a show of hands, to keep Sacramento a one way street.

As most of you know, Alderman Silverstein will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, August, 24, 2016 at Cheder Lubavitch Girls School. This 6:30pm meeting will provide residents with an opportunity to voice their opinion about whether or not Sacramento Avenue should become a two way street between Howard and Jerome. Please share your thoughts here.
