New City of Chicago Bag Tax!!

Don’t forget that the City of Chicago is mandating that beginning February 1, 2017 stores charge its customers $0.07 per bag at checkout.  Consumers are advised to take their own bags to the store to avoid the tax.  A good way to remember to have bags with you when you shop is to leave empty bags by your front door after you’ve unpacked them and place them in your vehicle when you leave the house.  Those who don’t drive can tape a note to the inside of your front door the night before you plan to shop to remind yourself to take bags with you before you leave.  Think of this as a way to save some money and help the environment too!  More information can be located on the City of Chicago website:   https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/fin/supp_info/revenue/tax_list/CheckoutBagTax.html
